First Day Questions (answers)

My previous computer experience is Adobe Illustrator in Graphic Design. What I hope to get out of this class is to become more familiar with the computer and using different programs to support my ideas for animation. I would also like to strengthen my drawing skills. I do not have any experience with Photoshop. I took a Graphic Design class my senior year in high school and did different projects with Adobe Illustrator. I also did a project with InDesign. I have a PC at home and my own personal mac, but neither have Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. I mostly use mac now. With my major I hope to eventually create my own animated series. At the very least, be apart of a company. I have many favorite artists since they all have their own unique talents. If I had to pick one, it would be Rachel Smyth who both wrote and drew Lore Olympus on Webtoon. I recently learned Greek Mythology and find it very interesting so when I found this I had to read it. It is both beautiful and very original. E...

Rethinking the Way we Sit Down (response)

After watching this video, the first thing that came to my mind, is that you never really know what you will end up doing in the future because your mind is constantly evolving. You first love something, learn different ideas about it, are given opinions, and branch out from there. For instance, Niels Diffrient went from his love of planes, to drawing them. He studied the human body more, learning different body types, so his chair would be as comfortable as possible and easy to use. He used what he was good at and moved onto something completely different than his first love. He used both his talent for drawing and observing to make something beneficial for everyone.   ...

Movie Poster Prompt

Image
My personal favorite movie poster is the cover of Adventures in Babysitting. The reason why I adore this poster is mainly because of the color and how it pops. It really grabs your attention where you cannot stop staring at it. The style of it is almost cartoonish which gives it character and you can tell this was made in the 90s, so you know it's good. The different facial expressions of each character gives you an idea of their personalities. Just seeing them on the side of a building makes you wonder just how crazy of an adventure they must have had to end up there. The font for the title was a really good choice, big and bold, just like the movie. The last thing I want to mention is the main character's scarf. There's something about it that captures my eye. I like how it's a rainbow, it works well with the coloring of this poster. I also love how it flows in the wind, it just looks so badass to me.
